Afrobeats superstar Davido has opened up about a difficult phase in his career, revealing that he almost gave it all up before his hit collaboration with Omah Lay turned things around.
Speaking in a recent interview with NoireTV, the singer admitted that he had considered ending his career until his song “With You” featuring Omah Lay went global.
Davido explained that he never expected the overwhelming reaction the song received and described it as a blessing, especially since it is uncommon to get such a major hit 14 years into one’s career.
He shared a snippet of the interview on his Instagram stories with the caption: “Super grateful to God @comah_lay ©tempoe_”, crediting both his collaborator and producer Tempoe for their role in the track’s success.
The song “With You” appears on Davido’s fifth studio album, 5ive, released in April 2025.
