Atiku Abubakar Officially Joins ADC

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), months after leaving the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Atiku announced the development on Monday via his X handle, sharing a photo of himself holding the party’s card with the caption, “It’s official.”

Recall that Atiku left the PDP in July, blaming his exit on the prolonged internal crises within the party.

The ADC, which is positioning itself as the major platform for opposition politics ahead of the 2027 elections, has already drawn a number of key figures.

The party recently called on all those expressing interest to fully buy into its vision and officially register after leaving their previous arrangements.

The party aims to unite key opposition figures, including Peter Obi, Babachir Lawal, Rotimi Amaechi and others, to challenge President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
