Senator Ned Nwoko has petitioned top security agencies after what his office described as a renewed wave of online harassment, cyberstalking and coordinated defamatory publications.
In a statement on Thursday, his communications team said the attacks appear designed to create a false narrative of persecution for “ulterior motives.”
The statement said Senator Nwoko remains focused on his legislative and business responsibilities and has no interest in what it called “online distractions or fabricated drama.”
It added that while the senator prefers to ignore misinformation, serious allegations must be addressed through legal channels, not emotional manipulation.
The team warned that the rising culture of supporting deviant conduct and weaponising public sympathy poses a danger to national values.
According to the statement, Nwoko has instructed his lawyer to file a petition with the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of the DSS and the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Cybercrime Unit.
Security agencies are expected to trace the digital footprints of those behind the alleged harassment with a view to prosecution.
The statement also urged the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom to be cautious of attempts to stage “artificial drama” around the senator’s family to gain undue advantage, including frivolous asylum claims.
The public was advised to disregard circulating narratives and allow legal processes to run their course.
Nwoko, the statement added, remains committed to his work and to upholding dignity, responsibility and due process.
