The incident reportedly occurred around 4:10 PM close to the town, according to local residents.

Eyewitnesses shared videos and voice notes showing the aircraft in flames after hitting the ground.

Villagers said the pilots were able to leave the jet before the crash, avoiding serious injury.

The aircraft is believed to have taken off from Kainji Air Force Base, and authorities were said to be moving quickly to secure the site.

The military has not yet released an official statement about the crash.

Videos circulating online show the plane on fire, confirming the reports from locals who witnessed the incident.
