Former Nigerian minister dumps APC
Former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State.
In a letter shared with journalists in Jalingo, Ikenya explained that his decision followed careful thought and consultations, and he made the change in what he described as the interest of the people of Taraba.
He recognized the PDP for supporting his political career, saying the party gave him the platform to hold important positions.
Ikenya also thanked his supporters for their loyalty and support throughout his decades-long political journey.
“I am pleased to announce that I have formally defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the interest of my people, Tarabans,” he wrote.
“You are all aware that the PDP remains the party that has given me the platform to attain all the positions I have ever held in politics, and this is where I believe I am loved,” he added.
