Dangote Refinery has reduced its ex-depot petrol price once more as competition in the fuel market grows stronger.
Fresh figures from Petroleumpriceng on Friday show that the refinery dropped its ex-depot rate to N699 per litre, down from N828.
The fall of N129 adds to the many adjustments made this year and comes just before the festive season.
The latest change comes at a time when the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and several independent marketers are also reducing pump prices across Abuja.
NNPCL stations in the capital now sell petrol at N915 per litre, slightly lower than the previous N920.
BOVAS and MRS have pushed their rates to about N910 per litre, after earlier selling for as high as N945.
Other stations such as AYM Shafa, NIPCO, Optima, Mobil, Ranoil and Empire now offer petrol between N920 and N937 per litre, depending on depot supply and location.
These retail drops follow earlier declines in ex-depot prices from major depots and refineries.
Before the latest adjustment, petrol sold at N824.50 at Dangote Refinery, N823 at Eterna and Aiteo depots, and N822 at BOVAS.
Even with the new cuts, many motorists in Abuja continue to avoid petrol sourced from the refinery in some outlets because the pump price remains higher than competitors.
