NNPC hikes petrol price
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has increased the price of petrol across its filling stations.
This development follows a recent rise in the gantry price set by the Dangote Refinery.
Checks carried out on Thursday showed that NNPCL outlets in Abuja and nearby areas have changed their pump price from N1,295 to N1,364 per litre.
This shows an increase of N69 per litre by the state-owned oil company.
The new price has already taken effect in several locations, including Gwarimpa, Kubwa Expressway, Wuse Zone 6, and Zone 4, where customers are now buying petrol at the updated rate.
Other filling stations in the city have also adjusted their prices. Stations such as MRS and BOVAS are now selling petrol between N1,365 and N1,370 per litre, showing a similar upward trend across the market.
The development followed an earlier move by the Dangote Refinery, which increased its gantry price by N75 on Wednesday, moving from N1,200 to N1,275 per litre.
The refinery linked the change to the rise in global crude oil prices, which have gone above $115.
