Nollywood actor cum Pastor Yul Edochie has defended traditional worship and the sanctity of shrines.
The actor who recently announced his calling to God took to his Instagram page to state that the practice of burning shrines and deities should stop.
He said that it was western influence that made people believe that their traditional worship was evil.
The founding pastor of true salvation ministries said that the traditional way could go hand in hand with Christianity.
He wrote:
“Stop burning shrines and deities.
Not all deities are evil.
Oyibo convinced us that all our ways are evil so we could discard our ways & embrace theirs, making slavery easy.
We need to wake up & start embracing our tradition.
Many deities acknowledge God
Almighty.
Burning them could bring you perpetual trouble.
If you don’t understand something, leave it.
If it’s not disturbing you, don’t disturb it.”
