Breaking: NLC, TUC Call Off Strike

The NLC and TUC have called off the ongoing nationwide strike following meeting with the NSA, Nuhu Ribadu this evening

The National Executive of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have called off the ongoing nationwide strike.

The National Deputy Vice President of the TUC, Tommy Etim, disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja today.

Dockaysworld gathered that the union decided to call off the strike following the intervention of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, and a meeting which started a few minutes past 7 p.m. today and lasted for about one hour was held between the leaders of the organised labour and Ribadu to discuss the specifics of the strike.

“The NEC of the NLC and the TUC have suspended the strike. We did this based on our trust for the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, who gave us his words,” he said.

Dockaysworld also gathered that the leaders of the organised union had met with the special adviser and the Minister of Labour, Simon Lalong, at the office of the NSA earlier today.
