Breaking: NLC, TUC To Begin Nationwide Strike At Midnight

The leadership of the NLC and TUC have instructed workers to begin a nationwide strike from midnight today.

  • NLC, TUC set to commence indefinite strike from at midnight
  • The strike is to kick against the Joe Ajaero's assault and other labour issues

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), have instructed workers to begin a nationwide strike from midnight today.

The President of TUC, Festus Osifo disclosed this to newsmen earlier today, saying that the strike would begin at midnight and would remain so until the government fulfills its responsibility.

The Congress’ decision to begin an indefinite strike came despite an order by the National Industrial Court (NIC), in Abuja, restraining the NLC and TUC and their forces from embarking on any industrial action.

The strike is to protest against the assault of the NLC president, Joe Ajaero, and others in Owerri, Imo State, on November 1, including the pending labour issues in the state.
