The lawmaker representing Zaria Federal Constituency, Tajudeen Abbas, has won the election and become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Abbas, who was elected in an “openly declare” ballot system was elected by members of the House on Tuesday.
He defeated fellow contenders – Ahmed Wase and Sani Jaji, who polled three votes each.

Recall that Abbas was one of the anointed ones of the APC, including the newly elected senate president Godswill Akpabio with his deputy being senators Jibrin Barau.
Meanwhile, representatives member Ben Kalu has emerged the deputy speaker of the house.
