Nigerian have now began to clamor for an immediate re-investigation into the case against the officer and for justice to be served at all cost.

Till this day, the federal government and  Lagos state government still maintain that no civilian was killed at the Lekki Tollgate during the EndSARS protest on October 20, 2020, despite multiple eyewitness reports and video evidence leveled against the Nigerian Army.

Dockaysworld reported a widow, whose son was an alleged victim of the EndSARS massacre in 2020, claiming that she has still not seen her son’s body 2 years after his unfortunate death.

We also reported an incidence of the Nigerian police, using tear gas canisters to disperse protesters at the EndSARS Memorial walk yesterday at the Lekki Tollgate Lagos state.

The Lagos police police immediately released a statement addressing the issue, claiming that tear gas was only used with the aim of preventing a breakdown of low and order, stating that they were no ‘fatalities’.

The force through its public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said;

Peaceful persons were allowed to move around without interference from the police. Some of them that decided to be lawless and start mounting the toll complex, an action threatening the existing law and order in the area, were dispersed with teargas.

There was no use of baton, neither was there physical contact. We equally do not have any record of shooting. We would, however, appreciate evidence of gunshots, maybe a video, to enable us take appropriate action.
