Cubana Chief Priest and EFCC Agree to out of Court Settlement over Naira Abuse Case


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and celebrity barman, Cubana Chief Priest, have opted for an out of court settlement regarding the naira abuse charge slammed against him.

According to reports, the Court will hear the report of settlement on 5th of June, 2024.

Recall the socialite was alleged to have sprayed the naira on February 13, 2024 at Eko Hotel.

He had made an appearance at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, for the ongoing trial regarding alleged misuse of funds in naira.

On April 16, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) leveled a three-count charge against Pascal Okechukwu concerning purported naira misuse.

Subsequently, he was formally charged the following day at the Federal High Court in Lagos and entered a plea of not guilty.

Following this, the judge granted him bail set at N10 million, requiring two responsible sureties with matching sums.

The judge stipulated that the bail conditions needed to be fulfilled within seven days, scheduling the next hearing for May 2.
