Detained Binance Executive Escapes Nigerian Custody  

Detained Binance executive Nadeem Anjarwalla has reportedly fled the country and escaped Nigerian custody through a middle Eastern airline.


One of the Binance executives Nadeem Anjarwalla, held in custody by the Nigerian government over alleged tax evasion and other offences has escaped the country. 

According to Premium Times, the news was confirmed by those familiar with the matter as it disclosed that the executive had escaped with a Kenyan passport. 

Recall that the Nigerian government had lured the executives into the country for a supposed negotiation on the Government’s plans to ban the crypto exchange platform in the country. 

They had however been held in custody with their passports seized to prevent movement out of the country.

The 38 year old however left the custody on Friday 22nd March, when he was taken by guards to a mosque due to ongoing Ramadan.  

Despite his British passport being seized, he was able to flee with a Kenyan passport allegedly through a middle eastern airline. 

It is believed that the liberty given to the detained executives, including access to phone, led to the escape. 

Nigerian authorities are yet to release and official statement as at this time.
