EFCC, ICPC Reportedly Uncover N287M New Notes stashed in Bank Vault [video]


The Economic and financial crimes commission, EFCC, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission, ICPC have reportedly busted a bank hoarding new naira notes.

According to reports, the EFCC and ICPC staged a joint operation which saw N287 million of the new notes within the vault of the bank.

Many have taken to condemning the banks who they’ve alleged are hindering the smooth rollout of the new naira notes due to hoarding and preferential treatment.

Meanwhile some governors including Kaduna state governor Nasir El-Rufai have taken the Federal Government to court over the newly designed notes.
