NNPC slashes fuel pump price
Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, at its retail outlets.
The adjustment saw the pump price drop from N1,335 per litre to N1,299 per litre, bringing down the cost by N36 per litre.
The new price has already taken effect at some NNPCL stations, including outlets located in Lugbe, Kubwa Expressway, Wuse Zone 3 and other parts of the Federal Capital Territory.
The reduction comes shortly after MRS filling stations, supported by Dangote Refinery, lowered their petrol price by N40 to N1,265 per litre.
Following the move by MRS, several other filling stations selling petrol between N1,300 and N1,310 per litre came under pressure to review their prices.
The latest adjustment by NNPCL is expected to affect petrol pricing in the capital city as other marketers may consider making similar changes.
