Obasa finally breaks silence on his impeachment

The former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, addressed his removal on Saturday at a rally held at his residence in Ikeja, Lagos.

Obasa claimed his impeachment was carried out improperly, alleging that due legal processes were ignored.

He accused the Lagos State Commissioner of Police of deploying over 200 officers to his residences in Agege and Ikeja during the proceedings, locking his family indoors.

Obasa dismissed the corruption allegations leveled against him as baseless and questioned their validity.

The former Speaker told his supporters that losing the position of Speaker was not the end of his career.

He urged anyone with claims of corruption against him to provide evidence, citing one specific accusation of spending billions on a gate as “unrealistic.”

Obasa’s supporters gathered in large numbers to welcome him at the Speaker’s Lodge in Ikeja.

He maintained that any removal should follow proper legal frameworks and procedures.

He said:

“If I am not speaker, that’s not the end of the world. If you want to claim that I am corrupt, please prove it.
