The legal community mourns the untimely demise of Justice Tanze Benjamin Makama, a recent appointee to the Nasarawa State High Court of Justice, who breathed his last on Tuesday. Having been sworn in on December 29, 2023, Justice Makama’s tenure on the High Court was tragically short-lived.

Nuhu J. Egya, the Chairman of the Keffi branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), issued a heartfelt statement expressing profound condolences to the grieving family of the late judge. The Chairman also extended sympathies to Chief Judge Justice Aisha Bashir-Aliyu and the entire judiciary community in Nasarawa State.

The legal fraternity was informed that Justice Makama had been contending with an undisclosed ailment, adding a layer of poignancy to his passing. Prior to his elevation to the High Court, he had served as the chairman of the Lafia branch of the NBA, leaving a legacy within the legal circles that will be remembered.
