Reps to Investigate Lagos-Calabar Coastal highway Project

The House of Representatives has decided to scrutinize the procurement procedures concerning the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway to ensure due process was followed.

This decision came about after a motion of urgent national importance was brought forward by Austine Achado (APC, Benue) during Thursday’s plenary session.

Achado, in presenting the motion, argued that the contract award for the highway did not adhere to proper protocols and lacked approval from the National Assembly.

The House, in response, has forwarded this issue to its committees on Procurement and Works for further investigation. More information will be provided as details unfold.
