Eyewitnesses reported that the robbers initiated their crime spree by attacking a local police station before proceeding to the banks.

The sound of gunfire sent people scrambling for safety as the assailants continued with their operation.

As they made their escape, the robbers threw naira notes into the air, adding to the chaos and panic in the community. They left the scene in two Hilux vehicles and a car.

The community of Otukpo, located in Benue South senatorial district, is a significant political hub, comprising Idoma and Igede ethnic groups.
