We played politics with subsidy removal even though we knew the truth – Ex Ekiti Governor Fayemi confesses [video]

Former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi says his party, while in opposition in 2012, opposed President Jonathan’s fuel subsidy removal policy due to politics despite knowing it was right.

  • Fayemi said the then ACN fought against fuel subsidy removal simply due to politics
  • He added that a Partisan Politics breeds enmity and hence a unity government was the solution

Former Governor of Ekiti, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has revealed that his party in 2012 (ACN at the time) stood against fuel subsidy removal even though they knew it was right because of politics.

Fayemi made with his keynote address delivered at a national dialogue organized to celebrate the 60th birthday celebration of the founding National Secretary of Alliance for Democracy and Fellow, Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Professor Udenta Udenta in Abuja.

Fayemi had been saying that the government needs to be one of Unity instead of the winner of elections getting everything.

He hinted that this was the reason the ACN now APC as an opposition party under President Goodluck Jonathan, had declined to accept the good policy of subsidy removal.
