Why Ghana President Visited Tinubu


Ghana’s President, John Mahama, visited Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, at the State House in Abuja on Thursday, March 27, 2025.

Mahama explained that he came to Nigeria to personally thank Tinubu for attending his inauguration in January.

Additionally, he provided an update on his diplomatic efforts with the military-led governments of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, focusing on security and stability in the Sahel region.

Speaking to journalists, President Tinubu expressed his appreciation for Mahama’s visit, highlighting the importance of strengthening ties between the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). He emphasised the need for continued dialogue to address security concerns and promote economic opportunities in the region.
