Another APC Governorship Aspirant Resigns From Party

A leading governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Dr Paul Chukwuma, has officially resigned from the party just a day before its scheduled primary election.

Chukwuma was one of the seven aspirants who purchased the party’s N40 million nomination form and underwent screening ahead of the April 5 primary.

Other aspirants include Chukwuma Umeoji, Obiora Okonkwo, Nicholas Ukachukwu, Johnbosco Onunkwo, Valentine Ozigbo, and Edozie Madu.

In a resignation letter dated April 3 and addressed to the APC Ward Chairman in Umueri Ward 2, Anambra East LGA, Chukwuma said his decision was aimed at building a broader political movement in the state.

The letter, titled “Resignation of party membership,” reads in part:
“I write to formally notify you of my resignation as a card-carrying member of the All Progressives Congress.

“My decision is rooted in my desire to connect Anambra State to national politics by building a broader and all-inclusive political platform that supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”

He appreciated the party leadership for their support and promised to continue pushing for a progressive and prosperous Anambra State.
