The Adamawa State High Court has postponed the trial of ACP Sherrif Abubakar Rabiu, the former Chief Security Officer to ex-Governor Murtala Nyako, until May 20, 2025.
The case was adjourned after Rabiu, who is also the first defence witness, completed his cross-examination.
Rabiu has been on trial since 2021 for allegedly misappropriating two properties worth ₦80 million.
According to the prosecution, he purchased the properties under the name of Sebore Farms Ltd, a company linked to Nyako, and later sold them, keeping the proceeds for himself.
During Thursday’s court session, Rabiu was questioned about his testimony and several key documents submitted as evidence.
These included a sales agreement, a deed of agreement listing Sebore Farms Ltd as the buyer, and another document related to Sebore Farms Export Processing Zone and Ashran Nigeria Ltd.
After the cross-examination, Rabiu’s lawyer, Rolland Enem, requested more time to bring in the final defence witness.
The presiding judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, approved the request and scheduled the next hearing for May 20, 2025.
