Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has revealed that although he is a billionaire, his wealth is in naira and not dollars.
The former Anambra State governor made the clarification during an interview with media personalities Adeola Fayehun and Rudolf Okonkwo, in a video that has gone viral.
The disclosure comes amid renewed attention to Obi’s personal finances and his reputation for frugality. He recently said he does not even celebrate his birthdays, reflecting his preference for a modest lifestyle.
Obi has also defended his wife, Margaret, over her taste for expensive bags and shoes, explaining that she has money of her own and is free to spend it according to her personal preferences.
