Just In: Court Grants Ex-CBN Gov N300m Bail

  • High Court grants Ex-CBN Gov Emefiele bail
  • The Court ordered for him to submit two sureties
  • The court also fixed a full-scale hearing on Nov 28 to try Emefiele on the charges against him

The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, has been granted a three hundred million naira (N300 million) bail.

The ruling was declared by Justice Hamza Muazu of a High Court in Maitama, Abuja, who also ordered the Ex-CBN governor to produce two guarantors, who must be resident within the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and who have landed property within the Maitama district.

The Court arranged November 28 to begin a full-blown hearing on the six-count charge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission indicted the defendant for.
