Nigerian football club, Lobi Stars has released a statement on signing former Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The club drew numerous reactions after it took to its official Twitter page to state that they had made no contact with the 5 time Ballon D’or winner.
While many have taken the tweet as a lighthearted joke, others have felt the Benue club’s tweet was insulting to the players who’s achieved a whole lot in his career.

Other smaller clubs around the world have made similar statements as they join in on the jest and wishful thinking.
The club tweeted:
LOBI STARS STATEMENT ON CRISTIANO RONALDO LINK
Pls be informed that #WeAreLobi is yet to make any contact with representatives of #CristianoRonaldo following his release from @ManUtd.
We wish him the best & #LobiStars will make no further comment on this.
