Over 300 politicians in Kaduna State have left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This mass defection took place in Kawo, Kaduna North Local Government Area, on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Jamilu Haruna, the Permanent Secretary of the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), said the move shows how well Governor Uba Sani has performed since taking office.
According to Haruna, the governor has made significant progress in areas such as security, education, food supply, and the general welfare of the people, which has earned him recognition from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He welcomed the new members to the APC and assured them of mutual respect and opportunities to grow politically.
Usman Muhammad, a former senatorial aspirant of the PDP and leader of the defectors, confirmed that he led 225 members from his former party to the APC, stating that they were impressed by the governor’s inclusive leadership style.
