Cross River Tourism commissioner dies


The Cross River State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Abubakar Robert Ewa is dead.

According to Channels TV, Ewa died on Wednesday evening at the Arubah Specialist Hospital in Calabar, the state’s capital.

The late commissioner had attended the state’s executive council meeting earlier on Wednesday, which was presided by Governor Bassey Otu.

Ewa held various public service roles, including Secretary and Chairman of Boki Local Government Council.

He also worked as Special Adviser on Community Relations and Secretary of the Anti-Deforestation Task Force.

Details surrounding his death remain unclear at the time of this report.

Members of the Cross River State Executive Council and other aides of Governor Bassey Otu are gathered at the medical facility to mourn with the deceased family.
