The Union commended the House of Representatives for its intervention in the protracted crisis between university lecturers and the federal government.
The President of the academic body, Osodeke, gave the commendation during a meeting with the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamia, and other lawmakers on Monday evening, October 10.
Professor Osodeke stated that industrial action was a normal thing across the world and should never have been allowed to get this far.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives assured that the lingering ASUU strike will be over in a few days.
Gbajabiamila also said President Muhammadu Buhari would make a declaration on the “No Work No Pay” issue, which is a significant area of contention, on Tuesday, October 11.
He said that the other issues had been taken care of with the federal government and ASUU shifting grounds on their positions.
