Suspected herdsmen attack Benue Communities

In Benue State, Agatu and Apa Local Government Areas are currently under attack by suspected herdsmen, resulting in multiple deaths and disappearances.

Communities such as Odugbeho in Agatu LGA and Ikobi, Edikwu-Olekle, Opaha, and Obinda-Odugbo in Apa are facing the brunt of these assaults.

The casualties include Tijani Ene’Ogekwu from Odugbeho and Simon Ojiji from Ikobi, whose bodies have been recovered. Additionally, Ene Aniheli from Ikobi sustained serious injuries and is undergoing medical treatment.

Local youth are reportedly mobilizing to defend their communities against these attacks, but the situation remains tense with several individuals still missing.
