Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has advised a member of the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide who belongs to the African Democratic Congress, to remain in his party instead of defecting to the All Progressives Congress.
The advice was given during a birthday event organised in honour of Abejide. Gbajabiamila spoke about the political situation around the lawmaker and his role within the ADC.
He said members of the ruling party are watching Abejide’s activities in the ADC and are pleased with the division he is creating within the party.
He also noted that some APC figures, including former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, had encouraged Abejide to join the ruling party.
Gbajabiamila told the lawmaker to ignore such invitations and continue his political activities in the ADC. He added that staying in the party and contesting elections from there would be better for him.
He also mentioned Bala Gombe during his remarks and said support would be available for him. He wished Abejide well as he continues his legal and political matters.
He said, “Don’t come to APC. Stay in ADC and scatter them. We like what you’re doing. Don’t mind former governor Yahaya Bello, who said you should join APC.
“No, no, no, stay in ADC and win your election. Also, bring Bala Gombe, and we’ll support him. Good luck in court”.
