Bashir El-Rufai reacts to Kaduna Governor revelation On Huge Debt

Bashir El-Rufai the son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has blasted Governor Uba Sani, accusing him of incompetence and poor performance.

This comes in response to Governor Sani’s revelation that he inherited a substantial debt burden from the previous administration, amounting to $587 million, N85 billion, and 115 contractual liabilities.

Governor Sani disclosed this information during a town hall meeting in Kaduna, stating that the debt was significantly impacting the state’s finances, with a considerable portion of the federal allocation being allocated to debt servicing.

He lamented that the state was left with insufficient funds to cover essential expenses like salaries.

However, Bashir took to social media to criticize Governor Sani, questioning his leadership and decision-making.

He accused the current administration of surrounding itself with incompetent aides and attempting to deflect blame by highlighting the debt inherited from the El-Rufai administration.

He wrote: “These guys have realised that they are wholly incompetent and the only way to mask the nonsense is to deflect. From a Governor that is always sleeping in Abuja to a litany of incompetent aides that were only rewarded for foolish political reasons.

“FYI: He was the Senator from Kaduna who lobbied & approved the loans.

“One would think that from all the FAAC allocations these unserious clowns have changed to dollars, debt would be the least of their problems

“The current administration in Kaduna is building a banquet hall for 7BN naira and is lamenting about debt left by the previous administration.”
