Adebayo Adeleke son of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke escaped an assassination in Osogbo after being chased by suspected hoodlums in broad daylight.
The incident happened on Wednesday around 3:30 PM near the Oke-Fia area, close to the Osun State Government House.
Adebayo popularly known as B-Red had gone out to buy some items at Alekuwodo market when the incident happened. While driving through a traffic point under the Okefia Bridge, some motorcycle riders wearing AMBO caps tried to surround his vehicle.
As he tried to leave the area, a white Toyota Venza appeared and joined in chasing him. The pursuit grew more serious as both the car and several motorcycles followed his jeep and tried to block his movement.
The chase continued through different parts of the area until he was able to drive into the premises of the Osun State Government House, where he found safety.
During the incident, B-Red said he recognized one of the people involved as Asiri Eniba, whom he described as a known political thug.
The matter has been reported to the police, and investigations have started.
After the incident, the Osun State Government reacted by calling on security agencies to arrest and prosecute those involved. The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, also urged authorities to act fast on the case.
